Have you traveled outside the NWT in the last 14 days?

If yes, you must immediately go into self-isolation where you are (don’t travel to another community) and then contact protectnwt@gov.nt.ca or call 1-833-378-8297 between the hours of 8am and 8pm for further direction.

As soon as you enter into the NWT you must make your way to either Inuvik, Yellowknife, Hay River, or Fort Smith.

No returning NWT resident is allowed to self-isolate anywhere other than these four communities. This is to ensure anyone exposed to COVID-19 is close to well-equipped hospital care.

Self-isolation means staying away from others.

DO NOT GO TO:

  • Work
  • Grocery stores
  • Restaurants
  • Gas stations
  • Health Centers (without calling ahead first)
  • Office buildings
  • Any other public place

DO:

  • Avoid having visitors
  • Keep your distance from others (keep at least 2 meters between you)
  • Ask others who are not isolating to pick up groceries, medications, or to run errands
  • Cover coughs and sneezes
  • Wash your hands often
  • Clean and disinfect your home with regular household cleaners

If you need help finding accommodations where you can self-isolate, contact protectnwt@gov.nt.ca or 1-833-378-8297 between 8am and 8pm.
