Math Programing

The Tlicho Community Services Agency (TSCA) is committed to using a multi-tiered approach to mathematics instruction. Oral language instruction is embedded into the learning as is reading apprenticeship strategies at higher grade levels. Math instruction is supported by programs like Math Makes Sense, Mathology and IXL.com. Mathematics instruction in the region is focused on a hands-on approach using manipulatives to engage students and build/reinforce learning. Regionally all students grade 1-12 write the Mathematics sections of the Canadian Basics Skills Test in the spring to provide benchmarks of academic achievement.
